SIMBI AKANDE

Since graduating with a 1st Class BA (Hons degree in Musical Theatre from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts I have gained a wealth of experience in the theatre.

Before lockdown I was part of the Original West End Cast of ‘The Prince of Egypt’ and thankfully I will be resuming my role in the ensemble and u/s Nefertari and Miriam when the Dominion Theatre is able to open its doors again.

I have performed in a wide range of shows and been very fortunate to work with amazing artists. This has enabled me to develop my vocal versatility from belting out an upbeat pop/rock song in ‘Ghost the Musical’ to singing in a ‘legit’ style in ‘The Light in the Piazza’. I believe vocal versatility is hugely important and can be achieved with any voice. I adore performing and I am eager to pass on what I have learnt along the way.

I have been involved in various workshops, concerts, play readings and recently sang on ‘The Prince of Egypt’ Original Cast recording at Angel Recording Studios.
